Case Study

Typical Bag in Box Lines: Multiple bag in box lines that require extensive cleaning and changeover between product runs. Throughput is limited when a bagger goes off line and no throughput when the cartoner goes offline.

Our Decoupled Bag in Box Lines: The Jones Integration Services concept provides separate allergen and non-allergen bagger rooms with conveying and diverting to multiple cartoning lines with only minutes to change over from one to the next.

The system included:

• Eight baggers, 4 in each of two separate rooms
• Four cartoning lines with checkweighers, casepackers and end of line palletizing
• A sophisticated conveying system that allows product to be combined from up to three baggers and diverted to any of the 4 packaging lines. This concept allows for maximum flexibility and production capabilities

The customer needed to separate allergen from non-allergen bag in box products and provide a packaging line with maximum flexibility and increased output capabilities.
